Experience

I began playing guitar in 1987. My interest has continued throughout the years into digital and tube gear, seven string guitars and a wide range of music.

1989 – 1994 | Guitar Player in Judge & Jury

Rhythm and lead guitar in 5 piece metal band called Judge & Jury. The music was technical, and ranged from original music, to covers of speed metal bands such as Metallica, Death Angel, Powermad, Pantera, and more. This band won the Oklahoma City Battle of the Bands in 1993. This band would play shows with national acts including Vinnie Moore, White Zombie, Peter Criss, and more.

1995 – 1996: Guitar Player in Ribcage

Lead guitar in 4 piece metal band called Ribcage. The music was original and somewhat experimental. Ribcage played live shows as much as possible.

1997 – 2002 | Guitar Player in Gears of Redemption

Lead guitar in 4 piece Christian metal band called Gears of Redemption. The music was all original music, similar to Sevendust, Korn, and Disciple. A demo EP was released early on, followed by a full length CD called “The War of Blood and Rust.” HM Magazine wrote about the debut release as being one of the best in quite some time. This band would play live as much as possible.

2000 – 2005 | Head of Sound & Media Department at Shekinah Fellowship church

Organized leaders to run sound and media, taught sound engineering to volunteers, conducted work days, purchased equipment, ran sound and audio recording during live worship on Sunday mornings, etc.

2007 – 2013 | Guitar Player in Shekinah Worship Band

Played guitar on 6 piece worship team, learning songs on a weekly basis, reading chords, writing guitar tablature, creating guitar sounds to mimic other guitarists, etc. The band would cover songs from Hillsong United, Lincoln Brewster, Charlie Hall, Kristian Stanfill, among many others.

2014 – Present | Guitar Player in Southpointe Worship Band

Play lead guitar on 9 piece worship team, learning songs on a bi-monthly basis, reading chords, writing guitar tablature, creating guitar sounds to mimic other guitarists, etc. The band would cover songs from Hillsong United, Planet Shakers, Bethel, and many others.
